Few penises are straight. Majority of them are curved left, right, up or down but they rarely hamper intimate moments. Many people are unduly worried about the shape of their private part. Curvature as much as 30 degree may be normal. If curvature is more than 45 degree, it may need treatment.
Treatment is by surgery only
Common disorders are – Congenital Penile Curvature ,Chordae and Peyronie’s Disease.
Chordae is generally downward bending of the tip of private part at the junction of glans and shaft. It is generally associated with Hypospadias. It is a congenital problem and should be repaired surgically at the age of 12-18 months.
Peyronie’s Disease is formation of fibrous plaques in the Tunica Albugenia (It is the tough Sheath surrounding the corpora cavernosa and corpora spongiosum). It is generally initiated by repeated injury to the vascular tissue due to horse riding, cycling or frequent use of Female on top position.
It is more common in people with Diabetes and those who perform intercourse in missionary position in highly passionate state, sometimes under influence of drugs, because they miss the target often resulting in repeated micro vascular insult. It results in pain on erection and difficulty in penetration.
